Symbaloo- Organizing Favorites and Bookmarks Online
Screen Shot of my personal Symbaloo mix:
Description: Symbaloo can be used by teachers and students to organize search engines and websites for more efficient internet use. Once you sign up, you can easily create different "web mixes" of sites you want to be abel to access quickly. On my Symbaloo, I have a web mix for my personal use, with a social media section, a search section, an entertainment section, and a teacher tools section. I have also created web mixes for my students, with sections by subject for online games and practice websites, and also sections for digital tools we use to create presentations and projects.
Symbaloo is easy to use because you can color code your sections, making giving student directions more efficient. For example, for a research project, you could tell the students they can click on any of the pink tiles to find information about their topic. Or for free play/center rotations, you can tell the students that they can click on any of the red tiles for math games. I have my boards linked to my teacher website, and the student ones are public so that students and parents can access them from anywhere. I definitely recommend this site for all grade levels, even younger elementary students could easily use these boards, and by high school they could be creating their own!
