The importance of copyright law
Today’s students will have access to more information through digital tools than ever before. The earlier we introduce students to information literacy and copyright, the sooner they will be able to use digital tools to their advantage and become 21st century learners.
Attribution, or giving credit to the creator of a work, is a concept that is important ethically, legally, economically, and socially. Learn more below and help our community and students practice copyright law!

How To Use Info from the InternetCopyright law protects original works from being used by others. However, "fair use is any copying of copyrighted material done for a limited and “transformative” purpose" (Stanford University Libraries, 2015). Following this idea, you CAN use a copyrighted work from the internet as long as you follow most or all of these guidelines:

Creative Commons
Creative Commons licenses allow users to grant different kinds of copyright permission (see mine below!). You as the author can decide whether you would like your work to be used, credited, altered or redistributed and in what way.
