Mind Map Example:
Description: This tool can be used for concept mapping, brainstorming and note taking as a whole group, small group, or individual task. It can also be used to collaborate with others by sharing mind maps, working on maps together in real time, and discuss work together in a chat. The process of creating a mind map is similar in that to which the brain works. You do not have to create the entire web or map at first, you create it as you go and according to where your thought process leads.
In my first grade classroom, I envision using this application for brainstorming and activating prior knowledge at the beginning of a unit. It would also be a great alternative to a graphic organizer for students to organize and summarize information they have learned before creating a presentation. The possibilities are endless really, because students can always use more practice with compiling and analyzing their thoughts and learning.
