Hi everyone!
It has definitely been a busy week. A lot of pieces of the puzzle came together this week as we looked back at our artifacts, tracking sheet, and exploratory question to decide on the most important learning gap that we would address. It was easy for us to decide on the learning gap that we would address, because it was the issue we saw in most of our artifacts, the students weakness in rhyming skills. The majority of our first meeting was talking about prioritizing and how to classify those lower level learning and instructional gaps. The table confused us a little bit, because we were unsure if we needed research and an implementation tip for each gap, but we communicated constantly and were able to figure it out.
Before our second meeting, we decided that we would work with table 2 independently and formulate instruction, the beginnings of a SMART goal, and the assessment, so that upon meeting we could really refine it to perfection. We also wanted to leave time in our second meeting to work on the presentation and assign roles. This is where our teamwork and communication really paid off. Two people worked on the slides, I wrote the script, and another member narrated, so we were all equally involved. We also checked each other's work along the way. I can't say enough about the importance of communication and asking questions when confused!! I look forward to the next meeting when we really get into the instruction.
